Loads of Choices
At LC Ecohomes we offer bespoke, custom designed homes specifically tailored for you. This includes the external finish to the homes, and to assist in your considerations, we can modify our CAD drawings to reflect the finishes you; the planning authority or your budget may dictate. As an example of this, we show below our new ‘Annan’ design, with a different finish in each case. These can be amended to a wide range of finishes and combinations including the cladding type an colouring; the type of roof finish, and the windows can be changed to, to have curved heads, trapezoids or traditional fenestrations.
Western Red Cedar
Shown here in vertical format, it is just as happy fitted horizontally. Includes Fascia’s; Soffits and Trims. Our Cedar is from North America, is very durable and stable, and rated ‘Durable’ within BS EN350-2016. Note that on the ‘Durability’ table, Canadian Western Red Cedar is the only specie achieving this level.
Siberian Larch
Shown here in it’s most common vertical application. As standard, we would supply with Fascia’s and Trims also in S.Larch, but soffits in ply. Our Siberian Larch would achieve Class 3 ‘Moderately Durable’ level.
Render
We can supply our homes for a render external finish, but does not require heavy masonry, instead using proprietary ‘carrier’ board panels fixed in lieu of cladding. These panels make excellent backing to apply any render you wish. The advantage of this system, is that it is relatively lightweight, using the same build/foundations as the timber cladding, and needs no heavy lintols or supports. The carrier board can also be used for the application of thin stone panelling (sometimes known as Cultured Stone)
Masonry
Of course, our home packages are supremely suitable if you wish to use Brick; Block or Stone as the external appearance. We can offer our packages with no cladding, and the option to have the fascia’s and soffit’s in any material you specify. If you wish to have a full masonry finish, then larger and heavier foundations would normally be required.
These images show only 4 possible external finishes, and there are many alternatives and options available, including alternatives within each type alone. For example, there are different grades of Cedar; different profiles of boards available, and we can also offer a Pre Stain/Treatment if desired.
