Extension To Traditional Local Cottage
We get involved in all types of projects. Whatever type of design it may be, the one sure thing is that it is always interesting.
Today we thought that we would let you see this smaller project that we have just submitted for planning approval for a local family. The existing stone built cottage has has a basic extension built in blockwork, which was neither attractive or useful.
Our proposals allow for the demolition of this, and replaced by a larger extension providing much better living space plus a new Master Bedroom suite. The nature of the extension allows for an open plan Kitchen/Dining/Living arrangement, the latter now taking advantage of a great open view to the west. There is also now a proper entrance, and we are also able to incorporate a En-Suite for the new Bedroom, and a useful Utility room.
The new extension will be formed using our highly insulated wall format, and clad in locally sourced Scottish Larch, fixed in a board-on-board pattern. The larch will soon weather to a silver grey, and blend well with the nature of the existing cottage …. we hope you like it.
